I’ve been helping Amie Otto shoot a wedding or two. She’s VERY pregnant and asked for some help. I would say that weddings are not my expertise (not that I specialize in anything in particular). I have taken a camera to a few friends weddings, and snapped a few shots, but that’s WAY different than being a wedding photographer, even as the 2nd shooter. It has been an interesting experience, and I feel like did much better the 2nd time. I rented a 35mm f1.4L lens from our local rental place, and decided to try shooting using mostly natural light. It’s REALLY tough…trying to be in the right spot at the right time and rely on windows for illumination. I kind of tried to stay in the background and just fill in, so I don’t have a lot of great pictures of the Bride and Groom together. I’ll go through them again and see what I can get up here.
