Lighting Workshop

Last weekend I attended a lighting workshop given by Don Gianatti in Baltimore.  I've been playing with both on and off camera for a little over a year, and while I thought I understood the basic principles, a few things never really clicked with me.  I know how to make adjustments to the flashes to achieve results, but I don't feel like I really "got it".  I would chimp a few shots off, which is fine,  except that I usually have limited time with my model (see previous post) before extreme boredom sets in.

The workshop provided several simple setups and tools for getting nice results.  While several people were there because they wanted to be "strobists", I just wanted to walk away with tools for being able to take some decently lit shots.  I have walked away from every class or workshop i've taken with a few good ideas and/or tools for shooting.

We were fortunate to have about 6 great models to work with over the course of the day, and a terrific studio space to play with in Baltimore.  Lots of great natural light in a really great neighborhood.   I have so many pictures to edit from that day, and I'm already way behind from the 1000+ shots I took on our honeymoon (more to come from that trip also).  Hopefully I will be able to get to them soon.

I like the model pics…one word of advise. Be careful about the things in your frame, the one with Briana, the 1st one. The celling fan looks like it is growing out of her head. You don’t want that.
